Apple Is Going To Launch A 14-inch MacBook Pro Later This Year: Ming-Chi Kuo

Apple has a slew of new product announcements lined up for 2020. The company usually tends to launch new laptops and iPhones every year, but this year things could be different due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Nevertheless, as per a new report from reliable Apple news source and TF Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo (reported first by MacRumors), the Cupertino giant is reportedly planning to launch two new Mac devices this year.
The main device in question is said to be a new 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, which will be replacing the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The new device, which will feature a mini-LED display panel, is expected to arrive sometime this year.
Apple replaced the 15-inch MacBook Pro with the new 16-inch MacBook Pro last year, so it’s not surprising to see the 13-inch MacBook Pro make its way out, too. That means the new 14.1-inch MacBook Pro will also feature the new scissor-switch Magic Keyboard that’s on the 16-inch MacBook Pro — which, by the way, is a lot better than the infamous butterfly keyboard design.
Along with the new MacBook Pro, Apple is also planning to launch a 27-inch iMac Pro later this year, which will be the first update to the iMac Pro since the original launch. The new iMac Pro will include a mini-LED display panel, and Apple is planning to bring the mini-LED panels to other devices, including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the 10.2-inch iPad, and the 7.9-inch iPad mini.
For the uninitiated, Mini-LED displays are LED-backlit LCD with Mini LED-based backlighting that supports deeper black and higher contract radios compared to standard LED types. It's not the same as MicroLED though, which is similar to OLED and doesn't require backlighting.
Kuo notes that the release of these new products is “unaffected” by the coronavirus outbreak, but that may change over time. Apple CEO Tim Cook said last week the company is slowly reopening some of its factories in China after it was forced to shut down factories over coronavirus fears.
