With smartphone companies in India locked in a race to give us the first Snapdragon 865-powered 5G phone, reports of another Snapdragon 866 5G phone are now coming in. Ahead of its launch on March 3, Black Shark 3 5G has now been confirmed to have a 4720 mAh battery and 65 W fast charging support.
A beefy battery coupled with fast charging technology that is on par with the Realme X50 Pro 5G, certainly makes the smartphone appealing. But that’s not all, the Black Shark 3 has been confirmed to feature LPDDR5 RAM that we recently saw on the iQOO 3 5G. But given that LPDDR5 RAM is only available up to 12GB RAM, we don't expect to see a 16GB RAM variant that has been rumoured to exist.
The smartphone will be a strong competitor in the market for gaming smartphones. According to GSMArena, a variant of Black Shark 3 with 12GB RAM and 512GB ran the AnTuTu benchmark and got the highest recorded score of 620,952 points, the highest we've seen on any smartphone yet.
Additionally, the phone has been expected to come with a 120Hz display. As mentioned above, the phone will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, which was also used in the recently-launched Realme X50 Pro 5G and the iQOO 3.
Showing the 270Hz sampling rate, a video has surfaced on Twitter. The leaked video showcases the sampling rate of the Black Shark 3 in comparison to popular phones like the iPhone 11 Pro, the OnePlus 7T Pro, the ASUS ROG Phone 2, and the OPPO Reno Ace.
