Fans have wanted something more after the amazing concept artwork of Avatar's sequel was dropped back in January this year and their wishes are finally being answered.

Producer Landau and director Cameron have been working on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 at the same time. In mid-March, the production of Avatar 2 was halted but Weta the VFX studio was still able to continue work on the digital parts of the movie. But a new update coming in from Deadline suggests that the films have returned to production in New Zealand. New Zealand currently has zero COVID-19 positive cases and after successfully controlling the health emergency has allowed certain productions to start filming again but under strict health and safety protocols. Some productions are "already safely underway" and Avatar 2 will be able to resume shooting along with other productions like the Lord of the Rings series.

Avatar was back making headlines back in 2019 when MCU's Avengers: Endgame came close to breaking its box office record and upon re-release overtook the Oscar-winning film's box office numbers. Currently, Avatar and Avatar 2 are set to finish shooting by summer.
